Overview

Tuned to the archer. Not the catalog.

A bow that fights you will undo a perfectly drilled shot. Spec-sheet specifications get you 80% of the way there — the last 20% is the difference between paper-perfect groups and frustrated arrows that won't agree with each other.

Tuning at Backcountry Arrow is methodical: cam timing, center shot, tiller, nocking point, rest setup, and arrow spine — verified against your draw, your release, and your shot cycle. We don't change the archer to fit the bow. We change the bow to fit the archer.

Common Questions

Before you drop off.

What bows do you tune? +

Compound, recurve, and traditional. Each gets the tuning method that fits — the goal is arrows that leave the same way every shot.

What tuning methods do you use? +

Paper tune, bare shaft, walk-back, and broadhead tune, depending on the package and how the bow is shooting. Every piece of the rig is checked, from cam timing to rest and peep.

Do I need to stay while you tune? +

Not necessarily — many tunes are drop-off. Hunting-specific work like broadhead tuning is often done with you there so you leave confident in the setup.

Do you tune for broadheads and hunting? +

Yes — the Field-Ready Tune is built for it, including broadhead flight and steep-angle work for the field.

Should I have arrows built too? +

For the cleanest result, yes. Pairing a tune with arrows built for your bow removes the biggest variable — see Arrow Building.
